Five Ways You Can Use Your Garden Room at Night
13th September 2021
A garden room is a great addition to any garden but when we think about the functional side of this, our minds most probably immediately go to home office, playroom, gardening room or art room but had you thought about all the possibilities for the evening? Here we take a look at 5 ways you can use your garden room at night.
A garden room makes a wonderful dining room especially if you don’t have this room inside your house. If the weather is good, you could have a barbecue outside and eat inside at a table, you could have drinks on the decking of your garden room or just simply use it later into the night as the air becomes a little chilly. In the winter months, this would make a stunning setting for any dinner party. With soft lighting, heating and a lovely view of the starry skies, your garden room would make a nice alternative eating venue to a restaurant.
If you have ever wanted to be able to have friends over for a party or get together but worry the house is too small or don’t want the mess the next day then a garden room makes for a great solution. A home bar would make an interesting and social place for guests, it would allow you to entertain without the constraints you find inside the house and it would mean a far cheaper night than going to a pub and getting a taxi home. You could decorate the interior to any taste that suits – a country pub? A cocktail bar? An Ibizan club perhaps? And stock your favourite tipples, put on your preferred music and enjoy lots of fun and easy-going nights “in”.
If you are interested in astrology but don’t have the space to keep your desired equipment inside the house maybe a garden room could become your star gazing room? Away from the house lights and set back in the dark of the garden should make it the ideal place to look through a telescope and watch the pretty night sky.
If your working day has been long and stressful, if the house is untidy and playing on your mind, sometimes the best solution is to escape it for a little meditation. Your garden room could easily become this type of room at night with a few changes. Ensure you clear the floor to have space to lay, sit, move around as you need to. Change your lighting to lamps and candles. Put on some ambient music, maybe add some incense sticks, large cushions and turn the heating up a little to get a comfortable, chilled atmosphere ideal for evening meditation before bed.
If your only chance to exercise is at night but going out to the gym feels like a chore, why not bring the fitness location to your own back garden? A garden room makes the ideal place to keep a good selection of gym equipment, yoga mats, weights etc. and with it all being right there on your doorstep, you can choose to exercise as much as you want, at any time of day that suits without the travel eating into that time. Many people choose this as their garden room function because it means they won’t make excuses, they can exercise whenever they are in the mood and as it is a personal investment, your money will be yours and not going to an establishment.
